The shop — since 1987
A shop built by wind addicts, for wind addicts.
We started as five boards in a borrowed garage and grew, steadily and stubbornly, into one of the largest wind-sports shops in the country — without ever leaving the same stretch of waterfront.
The rule hasn't changed since day one: nobody sells gear they haven't ridden. Every kite, foil and sail in this building has a story someone on staff can tell you, usually unprompted, at considerable length.

The log book
Thirty-nine summers.
1987
A garage, two racks and a dream
The shop opens above a sailmaker's loft — five boards, a coffee pot, and an unshakeable belief that this river was world-class before the world noticed.
1994
The waterfront era begins
Doors open on Front Street. The lesson school launches with three instructors and a fleet of longboards wider than most doorways.
2003
Kites arrive on the sandbar
We become early adopters of kiteboarding, teaching among the first certified programs in the Northwest.
2013
The paddle years
SUP turns the shop into a four-season business and turns half the waterfront into morning paddlers.
2019
Wings change everything
A hand-held sail and a foil walk into a quiver — and the learning curve everyone feared becomes the sport nobody can stop talking about.
2026
Still a family operation
Same street, bigger racks. Kids of our first campers now work the lesson beach.
